Urgent Notice: Aggressive Breed Dog Attack

Yesterday, Thursday, May 12, in the late afternoon, a homeowner who was walking their dog in the vicinity of 1080 Siena Oaks Circle East was involved in a totally unprovoked attack by an unrestrained aggressive breed.

A car was driving past and the dog jumped out of the moving car’s open window.

Fortunately, the individual and their dog were not severely injured. A complaint/report is being filed by the victim with PBG Police/Animal Control.

Fortunately, there is a photo of the vehicle and license plate. We do not know if this vehicle or pet belongs to a resident or visitor of the community.

Previously, over the past few weeks, several people in the community have reported instances of neighborhood dogs roaming the neighborhood loose or off their leashes.

*** TO BE CLEAR:
ALL DOGS, NO MATTER WHAT SIZE OR TYPE, ARE TO BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES IN THE SIENA OAKS COMMUNITY. *** NO EXCEPTIONS.

What You Should Do:
If you see or experience any such instances with loose dogs, you need to immediately call Palm Beach Gardens Police at #911 or on their non-emergency number (561-799-4445), based on the urgency of the situation.

They will dispatch a police officer and possibly a PBG code enforcement officer to issue a citation to the dog’s owner and make record of the situation, as needed.

We understand that some neighbors may be hesitant to call the police, however, this is the best course of action.
Why, you ask?

Reporting it by phone or email to my office will *not* result in action as I am not permitted to make a report on your behalf or file a complaint on incidents that I have not witnessed.

Let’s watch out for each other;
It’s important for all of us to work together to keep all neighbors safe, including our children, the elderly, and our pets.
